How To – Barbell Curl

Barbell curls. Standing barbell curls strengthen and define the upper arm muscles, specifically the biceps. Stand with your body stabilized feet about shoulder width apart. Hold the barbell down at your thighs. Keep your chest up and your elbows braced at your sides. Bend your elbows and pull the barbell up toward your shoulders until your elbows can’t bend anymore. Return slowly to the bottom position. Avoid letting your elbows move forward instead of keeping them against your torso, leaning back excessively, and swinging your body.
