Discipline vs, punishment – there is a difference!

Is it discipline or is it punishment? Today’s Monday Motivation quote from Family Fire sets the record straight.

“Punishment is about retribution for the past. Discipline is about correction for the future.”

Family Fire

Makes sense, right? As a kid we probably were not fond of being punished by our parents. However, if we did what we were supposed to do (discipline) there was no punishment. As adults we should hold ourselves to the same standards – remain disciplined and avoid punishment. Most adults “punish” themselves whether they know it or not when they are not disciplined.

What’s an area of you life when you are not as disciplined as you’d like to be?
